About This Essential Oil
Spearmint Essential Oil is steam distilled from Mentha spicata. Its sweet, green mint aroma is softer and less menthol-dominant than Peppermint, making it useful where a rounded mint character is preferred. It remains a concentrated essential oil and should not be assumed suitable for children or sensitive users without age- and product-specific guidance.
Key Benefits
• Provides a fresh, sweet and uplifting mint aroma
• Creates a bright and revitalising atmosphere
• Adds a softer mint note than Peppermint
• Popular in diffuser and room-fragrance blends
• Complements soaps and carefully formulated body products
• Blends readily with citrus, herbal and woody oils
History
Spearmint has a long history as a culinary and aromatic herb. Ancient Greek and Roman traditions included mint in bathing, fragrance and household preparations. Its fresh flavour later made it a familiar ingredient in confectionery and oral-care products. Historical use of the herb does not establish that concentrated Spearmint Essential Oil treats digestive, respiratory, urinary or reproductive conditions.
