About This Essential Oil
Common Sage Essential Oil is steam distilled from Salvia officinalis. Its powerful herbal-camphor aroma is used sparingly in specialist perfumery, soap and household fragrance formulations. Composition can vary substantially, particularly in thujone and camphor content. This is not a gentle everyday oil, and batch chemistry must be reviewed before determining any suitable application or limit.

History
Sage has a long history as a culinary, ceremonial and customary herb around the Mediterranean. The genus name Salvia is associated with the Latin salvere, meaning to be well or in good health. Historical uses of the herb do not establish that concentrated Common Sage Essential Oil treats disease, regulates hormones or supports fertility.
