About This Essential Oil

Sweet Orange Essential Oil is cold pressed from the peel of Citrus sinensis. Its soft, juicy citrus aroma is widely used in diffuser blends, natural perfumery, soaps, household fragrance and carefully formulated body products. Although its aroma is often described as gentle and familiar, it remains a concentrated aromatic material and must be diluted and used appropriately.

Key Benefits

• Provides a sweet, fresh and uplifting citrus aroma
• Creates a cheerful and welcoming aromatic atmosphere
• Popular in diffuser and room-fragrance blends
• Adds a bright top note to natural perfumes
• Complements soaps and carefully formulated body products
• Blends readily with citrus, floral, woody and spice oils

History

Sweet Orange originated in Asia and spread through trade routes into the Middle East and Europe. Portuguese traders helped establish the fruit in Europe during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and it later became widely cultivated in warm regions around the world. Orange peel has a long history in food, fragrance and customary preparations; however, those historical uses should not be presented as proof that the concentrated essential oil treats health conditions.
