About This Essential Oil
Lavandin Super Essential Oil is steam distilled in New Zealand from the flowering tops of the cultivar Lavandula × intermedia 'Super'. Its fresh lavender aroma is typically softer and more floral than some strongly camphoraceous Lavandin cultivars, while remaining brighter and more penetrating than True Lavender. It is well suited to diffuser blends, soaps, household fragrance and carefully formulated massage and body-care products.
Key Benefits
• Pure New Zealand-grown and distilled essential oil
• Provides a fresh, clean lavender aroma
• Creates a bright and refreshing aromatic atmosphere
• Popular in diffuser and room-fragrance blends
• Suitable for carefully formulated massage and body products
• Blends readily with citrus, herb, floral and conifer oils
History
Lavandin is a hybrid of True Lavender and Spike Lavender. Commercial cultivation expanded during the twentieth century because the plants are vigorous and provide a higher oil yield than True Lavender. 'Super' is a recognised Lavandin cultivar with its own aromatic and chemical profile. New Zealand cultivation gives this product a distinctive local provenance, but its identity and origin should still be supported by current grower and batch documentation.
