About This Essential Oil
Lavandin Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops of Lavandula × intermedia, a naturally occurring lavender hybrid. Its stronger, more penetrating aroma makes it popular in diffuser blends, soaps, household products, massage preparations and natural perfumery. Aroma and composition vary between cultivars and batches.
Key Benefits
• Provides a fresh, clean lavender aroma
• More robust and penetrating than true lavender
• Popular in massage and body-care formulations
• Adds freshness to soaps and household products
• Useful in diffuser and room-fragrance blends
• Complements citrus, herbal, woody and floral oils
History
Lavandin is the hybrid of true lavender and spike lavender. It occurs where the parent species grow in proximity and has also been cultivated commercially, particularly in France and Spain. Lavandin plants are generally larger and more productive than true lavender, which has supported their widespread use in fragrance, soap and household products. Grosso, Super and Abrial are distinct cultivars rather than interchangeable product names.
