History
Known since ancient times for its antiseptic and medicinal qualities, Juniper was traditionally used to help protect against contagious diseases. During the 15th and 16th centuries it was employed by herbalists as part of efforts to guard against plague outbreaks.
The cleansing properties of Juniper have been recognised throughout history. From Ancient Egypt onwards, Juniper was used in purification ceremonies to cleanse the mind, body, and spirit. In folklore, aromatic Juniper sprigs and berries were believed to ward off evil influences and negative energies.
