History

Lemon-Scented Gum is native to north-eastern Australia and recognised by its smooth, pale and often mottled bark. The species was formerly placed in the genus Eucalyptus and is still widely known in trade as Eucalyptus citriodora. Its foliage has a notably lemon-like aroma, and the distilled oil became valued in fragrance, soap and household aromatic products.
