History
Also called Lawn Chamomile, Roman Chamomile has a long history in European gardens and aromatic traditions. The name chamomile is traced to the Greek chamai, meaning 'on the ground', and melon, meaning 'apple', referring to its low growth and apple-like fragrance. Its flowers featured in traditional preparations, while the essential oil became valued in perfumery and aromatherapy for its ester-rich aroma.
