About This Essential Oil
Bergamot Essential Oil is one of the most distinctive citrus oils used in aromatherapy and natural perfumery. Cold-pressed Bergamot is naturally phototoxic unless it has been specifically processed to remove furocoumarins.

History
Bergamot has been closely associated with southern Italy and the fragrance trade for centuries. Its name is often linked with the Italian city of Bergamo, although the precise origin of the name is uncertain. The oil became an important ingredient in European perfumery and eau de cologne, and Bergamot is also well known for giving Earl Grey tea its characteristic citrus fragrance.
