History
Tea Tree has been used for thousands of years by Australian Aboriginal peoples, who crushed the leaves and applied them to wounds, inhaled the aroma for respiratory complaints, and bathed in waterways where Tea Tree leaves had fallen. The name 'Tea Tree' was first used by Captain James Cook in 1777 when the leaves were brewed into a tea.
Often referred to as the natural equivalent of antiseptic cleansers, Tea Tree is unusual because it has traditionally been valued against bacteria, fungi, and viruses while also supporting the body's natural immune response.
