History
Rosewood has long been established in the perfume industry and has also been used as a flavouring in foods and beverages. Historically, the essential oil was obtained from mature Rosewood trees growing wild in the Brazilian Amazon.
Unfortunately, over-harvesting led to a significant decline in wild Rosewood populations. Modern sustainable practices now focus on extracting essential oil from leaves and branches rather than felling mature trees, helping to preserve this valuable species for future generations.
