History
Niaouli has a long history of traditional use for wounds, infection, and respiratory complaints. French practitioners valued it highly in hospital obstetric wards because of its antiseptic qualities and good skin tolerance when appropriately diluted.
It has often been used as an alternative to Cajeput and Eucalyptus for respiratory support and remains a popular ingredient in toothpastes, mouthwashes, gargles, and cough preparations. Niaouli is also recognised as a powerful tissue stimulant, traditionally valued for supporting healing, particularly following burns and skin damage.
