History

Myrrh is one of the oldest known perfumes and medicinal resins, with recorded use dating back over 3,700 years. The name Myrrh comes from the Arabic and Hebrew word 'mur', meaning bitter. Ancient Egyptians burned Myrrh in sacred ceremonies, used it in rejuvenating face masks, and included it in embalming practices.

Greek soldiers carried Myrrh into battle to apply to wounds, while it was also highly valued throughout biblical times. Myrrh was one of the gifts presented to baby Jesus and has long been associated with healing, spirituality, and purification.
