History
Native to China and the Far East, Mandarin is believed to have been named after the ruling officials known as Mandarins, to whom the fruit was traditionally presented as a gift. It was introduced into Europe during the early nineteenth century and quickly became established throughout the Mediterranean region.
Mandarin shares many qualities with Orange and Tangerine oils but is widely regarded as the gentlest of the citrus oils. In France it has traditionally been known as the 'children's remedy' and has long been used to support digestive comfort, calm restlessness, and promote emotional wellbeing.
