The juice and rind have long been used in traditional Indonesian medicine, earning the fruit the nickname 'medicine citrus'. The leaves are widely used throughout Southeast Asian cuisine, while the essential oil has traditionally been valued for its cleansing, refreshing, and aromatic qualities.
