History
Rose-scented Pelargoniums originated from southern African species and were developed through cultivation and hybridisation. They entered European perfumery in the nineteenth century before production expanded from Grasse to North Africa, Réunion and other regions. Rose geranium oils are sold under several names, so identity and origin should be taken from the supplier's batch documentation.
