About This Essential Oil

Eucalyptus Blue Gum Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus, one of the best-known eucalyptus species. Its bold and penetrating fragrance combines fresh eucalyptus and camphoraceous notes with a dry woody-green undertone. The oil has a powerful aromatic presence, so only a small amount is needed in a blend.

Key Benefits

• Provides a strong, fresh eucalyptus aroma
• Creates a crisp and invigorating aromatic atmosphere
• Adds lift to diffuser and room-fragrance blends
• Complements herbal, coniferous, citrus and woody oils
• Popular in sports-inspired aromatic massage formulations
• Useful in household and seasonal fragrance blends

History

The name Eucalyptus comes from Greek words meaning 'well covered', referring to the cap that covers the developing flower bud. Eucalyptus globulus is native to south-eastern Australia and Tasmania and is widely known as Southern Blue Gum or Tasmanian Blue Gum. The species was later cultivated internationally, and its distilled leaf oil became an important fragrance and household material.
