History
Pimenta racemosa, commonly called the Bay Rum Tree or West Indian Bay Tree, is native to the Caribbean and tropical Americas. Its aromatic leaves became closely associated with Bay Rum, a traditional Caribbean cologne and grooming preparation. The concentrated essential oil itself is not suitable for consumption.
