Background Story
Known as the Australian Bush Nut, Queensland Nut, Bauple Nut, Popple Nut, and by Aboriginal Australians as Kindal-Kindal, the Macadamia tree is native to the subtropical forests of New South Wales and Queensland.
The original trees were discovered by settlers during the mid-19th century, and today's cultivated varieties are derived from carefully developed hybrids. The tree can grow up to 20 metres tall and produces large quantities of nuts each season.
Macadamia Oil is highly valued because of its unique concentration of palmitoleic acid, a fatty acid naturally found in human sebum, particularly in younger skin. As we age, levels of palmitoleic acid naturally decline, making Macadamia Oil especially prized in mature skin care formulations.
