Carrot Oil is derived from the root of the carrot plant, Daucus carota, whose delicate white flower heads are commonly known as Queen Anne's Lace. The flower is easily recognised by the small dark spot often found at its centre. The name Daucus is the Latin word for carrot.
The macerated oil is often confused with Carrot Seed Essential Oil, however they are completely different products. Carrot Oil is produced by steeping chopped carrot root into a carrier oil, allowing valuable plant compounds, vitamins, and beta-carotene to infuse into the oil.
